The Musetet

was formed upon my move to Kansas City in the fall of 2017. Outside of classes, I was in search of a way to grow, experiment, and integrate myself into the KC jazz community. Several of my classmates were too, so we got together to form The Musetet. In 2018, we took a few of our favorite tunes into the studio and recorded our EP—titled after one of my own tunes—Hedges on Hedgerows.

As we began playing together more regularly and identified our voice as a group, we decided to pay homage the musicians we learned from. This resulted in our 2019 project, Music of Our Mentors. We put together a live performance showcasing both music composed by our mentors, as well as a handful of our own tunes that they inspired.
